REIGNING Pirelli National Superstock 1000 Champion Chrissy Rouse is delighted to announce a sponsorship deal with the UK’s number one Kawasaki dealership, Colchester Kawasaki,  as he returns to defend his crown this year.

The maths teacher from Burnopfield near Newcastle will be a proud ambassador for the leading dealership as he moves back to Kawasaki power with the GR Motosport squad backed by Stauff UK.

Last month, GR boss Brent Gladwin revealed he had signed the Geordie in a bid to reclaim the title he won in 2020 while riding the Crowe Performance BMW.

Rouse will now be back under the Kawasaki banner as he pilots the new ZX-10RR and has won the support of one of the UK’s most iconic dealers, Colchester Kawasaki.

Based in Colchester, Essex, it is one of just 10 Elite Kawasaki dealerships in the country and is home to hundreds of new Kawasaki road and off-road machines, along with a huge selection of used bikes.

And it’s not just Kawasakis – Colchester Kawasaki is also a dealer for Moto Guzzi, Piaggio, Vespa, Gilera, MP3 and Aprilia bikes and scooters.

The dealership has scooped the prestigious ‘Dealer of the Year’ award from MCN twice – in 2017 and 2019 – and was also named Kawasaki’s own Dealer of the Year in 2017.

Not only  a leading road and off-road dealership, Colchester Kawasaki has a long and strong racing heritage, having been involved with teams all the way up to British Superbike level for more than 20 years.

“I’m absolutely over the moon to be working with Colchester Kawasaki in 2021,” said Rouse. “It’s been amazing having the support from Luke and the team for the Chasin’ The Racin’ podcast that I work on with road racer Dominic Herbertson, but I’m really excited to further build on that in 2021 and be involved with some really cool and exciting plans.”

“I can’t wait to get out testing on my new Kawasaki in preparation for round one at Oulton Park in Cheshire. I was supposed to race the ZX10 last year but for various reasons we had to change our plans so it’s been fantastic to be welcomed back into the Kawasaki family.

“I’m hoping we can continue the success from last season and get Kawasaki back on the top step of the Superstock 1000 podium with the new ZX10-RR.”
