MATHS teacher Chrissy Rouse is hoping to add to his points tally this weekend as the Pirelli National Superstock 1000 Championship heats up at Oulton Park.

The Geordie racer heads to the Cheshire track for another two races this Saturday and Sunday where he hopes to claw back the championship lead from rival Tom Neave who sits just six points ahead of him.

After a last-minute engine change at the previous round, the Crowe Performance BMW squad has been working hard back at the workshop to get his BMW S1000RR  ready to roll at Oulton.

And with two races over the weekend, Rouse is hoping to draw upon his love for the undulating circuit and previous success there to bring home two solid results.

“I’m really looking forward to it, it’s tight at the top with just the six points between me and Tom so good, strong results are vital here this weekend,” he said. “We’ve got a race on Saturday and another on Sunday which will be broadcast on Quest HD so it’s free to watch and everyone can follow my progress.

“I absolutely love Oulton Park, I’ve had some great results there in the past and it’s a shame there will be no spectators there as it’s one of the best tracks on the calendar for meeting the fans and it won’t be the same without them.

“After the mechanical issue at the last round, the team has worked really hard and we’re all good to. It’s not been cheap, it’s cost us few extra thousand pound but it had to be done and I’m confident  we’ll fast straight out the box on Friday morning.”

Chrissy’s weekend kicks-off with two free practice sessions on Friday, September 18 followed by race one at 2.40pm on Saturday and race two at 3.10pm on Sunday  – available to watch live on Quest HD.
