Official news release for Chrissy Rouse by Zoë Burn Motorsport Media Services
CHRISSY Rouse heads to Brands Hatch for the second time this season for Round Seven of the Pirelli National Superstock 600 Championship this weekend.
The 19-year-old Geordie is looking to improve on his sixth place finish at Knockhill in Scotland a fortnight ago, as the series returns to the Kent track for the second time this year.
This time, the event is being held on the longer GP track, and the Team HARIBO Starmix Triumph rider says he wants to start making amends for a tough start to the season. Despite hurting his shoulder earlier this week in a training incident, he is keen to get back on track and is hoping to bag his best result of the year so far.
“I’m really looking forward to this round, Brands Hatch GP is a track I really like and I’m feeling really positive about the weekend,” he said. “We tested at Silverstone on Tuesday and even though there wasn’t a lot of track time because it drizzled a lot, I left feeling happy with where we are.
“I’m looking to consolidate my position in the championship and hopefully make further improvements. I’ve gone from seventh to sixth and now I want to go to at least fifth, and I’m confident that I can do it.
“Brands Hatch is a great circuit, and since we’re now heading into the second part of our season, it’s time to step it up a bit and start chasing those podiums. Hopefully we will have some cause for celebration on Sunday.”
